This class is about bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials. Bloodborne pathogens are viruses and bacteria in human blood and other potentially infectious material that can cause disease in humans. Workers exposed to these pathogens risk serious illness. Training Requirements OSHA has determined that employees face a significant health risk as a result of occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials and has created a standard for Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens. Where employees are subject to exposure, employers must ensure that their workers receive regular training that covers all elements of the standard.
